Origami paper folding is one of my hobbies in spare time, I made these four roses using four origami paper in different colours, each rose took me 15 minutes to complete. The reason why I love making origami is that it is an easy and cheap decoration for room, a perfect gift for loved ones, and a good way to improve my practical ability and spatial imagination ability. As a girl, I’d rather receive origami roses than the real roses because it shows the sincere heart and patience of that person.

Located in Cambodia, Angkor Wat as the largest religious monument in the world, it is famous for its magnificent temples and gorgeous bas-reliefs. I’m impressed by the symmetry of Angkor Wat’s  layout, ancient architects build the temples using combination of mirror and rotational symmetry, which showed the same religious theme in different angles. Not only the compact layout, distinguished style and elegant design make itself a preeminent representative of the ancient constructions. It’s my dream to feel the charm of Angkor Wat by person.

This photo was captured during my family trip in an aquarium located in China. Two beluga were swimming near the observation window, one beluga is bigger in size, another one is smaller, everyone was guessing, are they husband and wife? Are they saying hello to us? Or maybe they are just curious about human beings. But somehow in my opinion, maybe these two beluga just felt being aggressed and expressing their anger to us, human are the aggressors, we took their home, wild animal like them was imprisoned by human in the zoo and aquarium. “Although they are beautiful, they deserve freedom.” I said to my brother, “You are so chilled.” He replied.

Assignment 2: Tank (testings, assemble and division)

Summary: We went through a lot of testings to approach the final 'skeleton' template, that includes joints testing and paper masking testing. JOINTS TESTING Having the laser cut files ready, we started by testing the joints between each pieces. Different thickness of the joint gap we chose to test out, from 2.5mm-3mm. Testing on small joints, we decided to use 2.6mm thickness gap, and apply to the laser cut files. Here is the laser cutting video taken by Jin: ASSEMBLE FAILED   Started out FIRST attempt of assembling, found out that the 2.6mm gap is too small to fit all the pieces together, then our skeleton was broken. :(  Below: the broken template   Paper masking testing:   While we were waiting for the new laser cut template (changed to 3mm gap instead), we used 200gsm paper to cover up the broken template and test out the approximate shape of the fuel tank. ASSEMBLE SUCCESS   So we tried our ...
